In 2011, Kristin Nell and her husband, Bob Nell, purchased Mequon Ace Hardware. Kristin had already worked at the store since 1998 and worked her way up to becoming the owner!

Mequon Ace Hardware was already a well-established local business, opened in 1981 by Roger Gronwick, Nan, Ted, and Jim Cox.

Kristin’s favorite part of her job is the chance to meet new customers and being able to establish long-lasting relationships with every person who enters her store. Being a small, local business allows the staff to be intimately involved in the Mequon community, and offer a level of service unmatched by bigger stores.
